Overview

The programme, supported under Skillnet Ireland’s Skills Connect Scheme, will be offered FREE to eight participants, and will run across 11 days in November 2024. It will equip the participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the creative and cultural sectors effectively, focusing on the role of administration and project management.

Course Dates

  • 6th – 19th November – at various times. A mix of in person and online. See calendar below

Location:

  • The first and final sessions — 6th and 19th of November — will take place in person in Dublin.
  • The rest of the sessions will take place online, on Zoom

Programme Aims:

The programme will provide a broad overview of administrative and project management fundamentals, equipping participants with knowledge and essential skills specific to the creative and cultural sectors. Participants will receive training facilitated and delivered by industry experts, along with a series of panels and guests speakers, covering a wide range of perspectives within the industry.

The programme also endeavours to support participants in identifying suitable work placement opportunities as trainees in a creative/cultural organisation/company in Ireland.

Who is it aimed at?


The programme is suitable for anyone wishing to:

a) Start a career in the creative industries
b) Transition from other sectors or disciplines
c) Take up an upskilling pathway in the sector after a prolonged break

Applicants do not need to have studied or worked in the creative or cultural sectors but should have a keen interest in working in these areas. For example: Production Companies, Theatre Companies, Broadcasters, Festivals, Galleries, Support Organizations.

The programme aims to bring together a mix of diverse voices to reflect the rich and diverse communities in contemporary Ireland and positively encourage applications from diverse and under-represented groups.


Due to our funding parameters, this programme is only available to residents of the Republic of Ireland

What is the Commitment?


Participants are required to attend all sessions (see calendar below)

  • Two in person sessions on the 6th and 19th of November at in Dublin (venue TBC)
  • Nine online sessions delivered on Zoom
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Participants are required to provide a feedback report after completing the programme

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement of intent and a brief CV. The personal statement of intent is an opportunity for applicants to share their story, tell us why they are the right person for this programme (max 600 words).

Costs/fee

FREE under the Skills Connect programme, funded through Skillnet Ireland. Skills Connect offers bespoke upskilling and training solutions, designed by enterprise, aimed at supporting re-entry into the workforce for those who are unemployed or underemployed. This programme is not open to students.
