Overview
Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet and Amazon are proud to deliver Create Your Own TV Show Concept
This is a high-energy, one-day course that unpacks the route to turning ideas into TV concepts. Are you excited by creative careers, love all things TV, and always wondered how the next hit TV ideas are born? Do you have the next ‘Traitors’ bubbling in your head, or TV ideas that just might compete with the biggest shows?
Create Your Own TV Show Concept invites storytellers, creatives and next-generation content creators to learn the skills of building new TV ideas (including lifestyle, entertainment, documentary and factual TV). This one-day immersive, in-person workshop will teach you how to identify, design, and build a compelling TV concept rapidly and effectively, unpacking the vital principles of TV ideation development.
How It Works:
Having received training in the fundamentals of TV concept development, you will then break into groups and be presented with a series of development tasks. These ‘development sprints’ will be focused on:
1. Finding catchy show titles
2. Identifying the story
3. Finding great hooks
4. Matching to trends
5. Building memorable moments
6. Creating compelling elevator pitches.
Throughout this highly immersive day, you will learn, through high-speed team tasks, how to turn your ‘ideas’ into actual ‘TV show concepts’.
Join industry experts Colin Pauser-Cowman of CPC Services Limited and Eilish Kent. They will share their years of experience commissioning, developing, and producing content for TV and online, to help you identify the steps to conceive, develop, and present ideas.
