These, and many others questions, on this issue will be answered in The New Rules Around Tax for Freelancers & Employers in the Creative Industries workshop presented by Gréasán na Mean and Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet.

This in-person workshop takes place on Thursday 3rd October, from 2pm to 5pm in The Galmont, Galway, and will be led by Elaine Gill, Head of Media and Entertainment, Clancy & Associates, Chartered Tax Advisors.

Attendees will get invaluable information through the following:

  • Overview of new Revenue Guidance on Self Employed v Employee contract status
  • Impact for production companies
  • Compliance with Guidance and interaction with Section 481 film tax credit
  • Discussion on decision tree to be applied to all contracts

ELAINE GILL – HEAD OF MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT, CLANCY AND ASSOCIATES – CHARTERED TAX ADVISORS
Elaine has over 25 years’ experience working in Irish film and television industry. Having begun her career in the entertainment advisory sector with PwC, she moved to banking in 2000, spending 10 years specialising in working with Irish based productions under the old tax incentive for film making in Ireland which was investor led.
She moved back into private practice in 2010 working with Clancy and Associates a boutique tax advisory firm based in Lucan, Co Dublin. Elaine works with Irish indigenous television and feature film production, European and international feature film co-productions, documentary both feature and series, animation both feature and series as well as high end incoming television production in Ireland.
Specialising in providing tax advice for the film industry Elaine’s areas of expertise include the operation and application of the Irish film tax credit, tax advice for cast and crew, VAT and corporation tax considerations for production companies based in Ireland.
Elaine has exceptional working relationships built up over many years, with Screen Ireland, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, leading Irish media legal advisors, domestic and European banks involved in the industry and the major completion guarantor companies. Elaine is one of the most experienced Irish professional advisors in this field with an understanding and appreciation of the specialist nature of the industry.
