Aims & Objectives

Screen Ireland the national agency with responsibility for the Screen Industries in Ireland in their 2022 sustainability plan identified four levers of change;

  • partnerships
  • skills
  • engagement and
  • incentives

    The agency has recently mandated new sustainability standards for all live action Film and TV productions receiving funding. These standards involve comprehensive measures, notably the requirement for each production to employ a Sustainability Advisor—a mandatory qualification for securing Screen Ireland funding. Furthermore, Screen Ireland offers funding up to 100% of eligible costs up to €25,000 per production for the Sustainability Advisor to ensure it becomes embedded in all productions going forward.
